This week, two quotes:

Philip Larkin:

It seems as if you’ve seen this sight, felt this feeling, had this vision, and have got to find a combination of words that will preserve it by setting it off in other people.

Anais Nin:

The role of the writer is not to say what we can all say, but what we are unable to say.

All I’ll add is, let’s make a pact, and not procrastinate any longer.  Stop reading, turn off your internet and start writing.

stand and stare...

NOW!

  1. Philip Larkin really nails it, doesn’t he? I’m definitely going to use it for my regular Sunday quote spot soon. (Suspect it will be less controversial than the one I put up yesterday….) Thanks for reminding us about what’s important about writing and why we want to do it.
